Emergency accommodation for students

We offer emergency accommodation for students who have not found an apartment at the beginning of the semester. Our aim is to support you during this transitional phase and provide you with temporary accommodation.

Registration

Registration is only possible on site. You can register at the AStA office (container between the Forum and AudiMax) during the following office hours:

Social Department: Monday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. , Thursday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Wednesday 12 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (additional emergency accommodation appointment from 07.10.2024)
Social counseling: Tuesday 16:30-18:30 and Friday 11:30-13:30 (cancelled on 18.10.2024)

Alternatively, you can also make an appointment with the social department by e-mail (sozial@asta-kit.de).

For logistical reasons, registrations for gender-segregated accommodation must be received at least three days before the planned move-in date.

Preparation

To speed up the registration process, please bring the completed registration form (see attachments below) and your certificate of enrollment with you. Prior notification to the Social Department by e-mail will also help to facilitate the process.

Accommodation details

Location: The dormitories are located in the west wing of the old stadium. Gender-separated accommodation in the ASH room of the HaDiKo student residence.
Time period: 23.09.2024 - 01.11.2024 gender-segregated accommodation will only be avaiable from the 07.10.2024
Costs: A deposit of 30€ will be charged, which can only be paid in cash.
Accommodation: A room with camp beds is available. Please bring a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. There is access to toilets, and showers are available during the week in the Sports Institute (Building 40.40/40.44) during opening hours.
Dormitories: There is the option of gender-separated dormitories. If these are desired, registration must be made at least three days in advance so that we can prepare logistically for this

After registration

After registration, we will accompany the students to the rooms. You will receive a key/access for a deposit and can immediately move into your emergency bed on your own. It is possible for up to eight people to share a room, but this is rarely the case.

Additional support

You can contact us at any time if you need help finding accommodation. Although we are not able to find accommodation directly, we can share our experience and give you valuable tips on finding accommodation.
